2007 HAS BEEN THE MOST EXCITING YEAR TO DATE FOR MEATCAMP PRODUCTIONS

We have found a new home for Camp Bisco, started our environmental festival The Echo Project, added some great new names to our new band management sector, and have officially broken in our ticketing sector UpperHand Solutions.

We are planning on an even bigger 2008, because of the great success of 2007 many doors have begun to open for us and we now have access to an even wider selection of talent, which is guaranteed to surprise even the most veteran MeatCamp fan.

Our goals for 2008 include providing you the fan, with one of the best electronic lineups in North America for Camp Bisco. Providing a new and forward thinking environmentally conscious event with some of the worlds greatest talent and creative art elements. We are aiming to get both of these events planned and announced early enough so that everyone has time to plan on taking time away form their busy schedules to come and enjoy two of America’s most forward thinking events. On top of these two staples of the MeatCamp repertoire, we have several other events and festivals in the works so keep your eyes peeled for upcoming announcements.

Please use our contact link to ask any question, give us any feedback, or just to say hi.

We are truly looking forward to a bright 2008 and we hope to see you there!

7/17/07 EVEN MORE ADDITIONS TO CAMP BISCO VI

We have some exciting artist announcements to make for Camp Bisco 6.  We studied the already stellar lineup and decided that we would fill in a couple of the gaps.  With over 25 artists already announced, we are thrilled for this year's event and are proud to call it the best lineup that we've assembled yet!

With Simon Posford already attending Camp Bisco with Hallucinogen in Dub, why stop there!  Simon will be performing a Shpongle DJ Set, which will surely be one of the highlights of the weekend. Currently producing tracks for The Disco Biscuits upcoming album, Simon has spent this summer playing shows all over the world. We're thrilled to be the East Coast stop for Shpongle this summer.

The Twisted Crew continues, as OTT will be performing a DJ Set.  OTT is the other half of Hallucinogen in Dub, along with his Twisted Records partner Simon Posford. OTT's previous work has included producing/engineering albums for Brian Eno, The Orb, Sinead O'Conner & Shpongle (just to name a few). In recent years, OTT has branched out as a recording artist and DJ.   A first time performer at Camp, this set is sure to be one for the ages.

We just didn't feel right without including some good old foot stompin' Rock and Roll.  Nobody playing music today says rock and roll more than Scott Metzger and Joe Russo, the core of Bustle in your Hedgerow, also featuring Dave Dreiwitz of Ween, and for this special performance, Jamie Shields of the New Deal.  Bustle recreates the music of Led Zeppelin, and they do it incredibly well. They have rocked packed clubs and festival crowds for the past couple of years. Between Russo's beats, Metzger's licks, Dreiwitz's precision, and Jamie's unique melodic approach, this is going to be a one hell of a set.

Born in Tokyo, Japan, Lyrics Born brings his hip-hop flavor to the Camp Bisco Stage.  He will be backed by a seven-piece band, which will surely add even more energy to his already anticipated set.  He was recently seen on tour and heard on Galactic's new hip-hop album, "From The Corner To The Block."

Last but certainly not least, straight from Connecticut, The Breakfast will be bringing their progressive, funk rock sound to their first Camp Bisco. The Jammy Award winning trio has spent the last year touring across the country in support of their last release, Moxie Epoxy. The band's ability to mix up a wealth of styles and feed of their influences, combined with the pure talent and raw energy put out at every show make The Breakfast a band not to be missed.

6/4/07 ADDITIONS TO CAMP BISCO VI

We are thrilled to announce some exciting additions to this year's Camp Bisco lineup!

Umphrey’s McGee will be returning to the Camp Bisco stage after taking a year off. In that year, they have refined, improved, and expanded their sound with some major festivals under their belt such as Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, 10k Lakes, and All Good.  Their success in 2006 culminated in their amazing performance on New Year’s Eve at The Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, and this summer Umphrey’s McGee will be opening for The Dave Matthews Band at several large amphitheaters.  The ever-evolving sound of Umphrey’s McGee continues to surprise and elate us and they are guaranteed to rock and shock us at this summer’s final blow out.

We are proud to bring one of Britain’s most unique and lively bands, The Bays. Based upon hundreds of requests from the fans, we brought you the band that is “reinventing dance music.”   “Their manifesto of pure improvisation and raw creative synergy is causing major tremors at all levels of the music industry, challenging many of its most entrenched attitudes about bands and live performance.” – DJ Magazine.

Adam Deitch will be returning after performing on all three stages last year. He seemed to be the talk of the campgrounds after making epic performances with the infamous John Medeski on the main stage, and rocking with his own band both inside and on the side stage. This year he will be bringing the story teller himself, Slick Rick, to provide us with what promises to be one of the most memorable performances in Camp Bisco’s history.

Also making a return visit this year will be the Benzos and Indobox. The decision to bring these bands back to Camp was easy after both bands provided hard-hitting energetic music which complimented the lineup perfectly. We are also proud to introduce one of our personal favorites, The Afromotive, a nine piece afro-oriented world beat band out of Asheville, NC. In addition, Philadelphia’s own, The Grimace Federation, will be making their debut performance at Camp Bisco along with Digital Frontier, Strut, and Caveman.

Tickets are on sale now for only $130 at campbisco.net, discobiscuits.com, and meatcamp.com.  Be sure to get your tickets soon before this allotment runs out.  We’ll see you all in 74 days!!!

9/27/06

As summer turns to fall, short sleeves to long, we’d like to take just a moment to reflect on Camp Bisco V and to congratulate you for surviving it like a champion. What a weekend, eh? Take a deep breath and picture it in your head, one more time. It is that picture that we hope you’ll take with you throughout the seasons to come, until we do it all again next year. (And do it again, we will.)

Of course, if you can’t picture it in your head, we’ve got some sick photos that will remind you; the new photo gallery is posted on www.campbiscov.com. And obviously, given the unbelievable performances by more than 30 bands — including four full sets by the Disco Biscuits — you may decide to download the music and relive the moments, note by note. You can purchase the soundboards at www.livedownloads.com/bisco. Go ahead. They’re great.

But yes, we know…in the end, nothing beats the real Camp Bisco. It is not just a music festival, it is not just a Disco Biscuits event, it is not just an end-of-summer party, and it is certainly not just a “blood, sweat, and beers” battle between four colors (although that is a heck of a lot of fun). Bisco is and always has been a real and actual community, and Camp is our promised land that we, each of us, build with our individual spirit and our collective energy. We bring ourselves to Camp Bisco and we lay it on the line, and in return it recharges us and it refreshes us and it puts us back in touch with all that we are and all that we want to be, so we can be spiritually tapped-in when we each, individually, drive home to face another autumn. Yes, that’s Camp Bisco alright. And just as CBV served as a cap on a year’s worth of anticipation, allow it to now be the fuel to get you through another year until we see you at number six on the flip side. “Our ship at sail will climb a mountain, ride it to tsky.”

You’ve been thanking us for the memories. Allow us to now thank YOU for the memories. Also, while on this business of giving thanks, we’d also like to give props to all of the artists, Hunter Mountain, the local community, our staff, our volunteers, and, once again, all of you.

Since returning from Camp, we’ve listened to all of your comments, your concerns, your suggestions and even your complaints. And while complaints were few, they were all valid. We appreciate all of your feedback because we want Camp Bisco to keep getting better every year, and to this end we are already vigorously searching for a different venue and for new artists for 2007. Based on feedback, we will improve next year’s festival in many areas. We recognize that one such area is security and we plan to create a more relaxed environment overall, while enforcing a more secure campground.

So keep in touch, because we certainly will. Our MySpace page serves as a year-round portal where we can share our stories, get in touch with people we met or danced with or set up tents next to, and even make some new Bisco buddies. We will also use this space to send out announcements and bulletins throughout the year, not just about the next Camp but also about any number of things that Camp embodies (be it an upcoming concert or a reminder to vote). Camp Bisco is our land, but our home is everywhere. Welcome to the neighborhood.

PS - Inquiries about lost and found for CBV should be directed to Doria at kampingkrew@campbiscov.com.
